Headlands Environmental (Headlands) is an environmental services company based in British Columbia, Canada. As an experienced team in the industry, since 2008, we have successfully managed many environmental projects for all levels of industry, government, and First Nations, both locally in British Columbia and internationally.

Meet Our Team

Mike HoferPrincipal

Mike has worked with large scale corporations, developers, various First Nations and all levels of government on numerous environmental applications, both locally, and abroad. A true expert in the soil management field with 23 years of experience leading teams on complex environmental projects, ranging from soil testing and land reclamation to landfill construction and operations management. Professional, dedicated and trusted, Mike brings a level of expertise to get the job done right.

Roland Cuartero Site Manager

Roland Cuartero is a proud member of the Shxwha:y First Nation. He has a decade of experience in landfill management and operations. As a Site Manager, he is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the permits and oversees operations on the Shxwha:y Village Land Reclamation and Soil Project. Roland is well versed in First Nations community engagement and building strong partnerships. Through his hard work and leadership he has also been appointed on the Shxwha:y Village Lands Advisory Committee.

Lloyd ZehnerOperations Manager

Lloyd has had a diverse career in the waste, construction, and soil management sectors since 2000, ranging from wood mill operations to landfill and facility management. Lloyd is the Operations Manager for Headlands Environmental and is responsible for the scheduling of tasks, employees, equipment and general maintenance and function of the site. Lloyd is also responsible for fill site construction, cell development, closure and all associated survey and fill site design elevations.

Katrina SmithProject Coordinator

Katrina is responsible for project coordination, project pipeline, data review and health and safety. She trains staff, gathers and analyzes soil and water samples, reviews analytical reports, organizes the hauling schedule, and assists the operations manager. Katrina has extensive experience in managing Aggregate Depots. She is a competent Heavy Equipment Operator and has a Class 1 License.

Louie EdwardsSuperintendent

Louie has over 22 years experience in the heavy equipment industry. He is experienced in running excavators, bulldozers, loaders, rock trucks and graders. His passion for training junior operators sets him apart. Louie is eager to implement efficiencies to ensure projects are delivered safely and on time. He is a leader in conducting daily safety meetings and educating the team on ways to continuously improve.

Jamie RaymerCivil Projects Manager

With over 20 years of experience in Civil Construction, Jamie has worked on and helped managed over 125 projects. He is specialized in technical and difficult excavations in residential developments as well as provincial and federal infrastructure upgrades. He is an expert and trainer in safe and efficient equipment operations. Jamie has built a wide network of respectable and professional associates throughout BC.
