Small Boat Float Projects
Managed and disposed of 8,350 metric tonnes of impacted soil.
The Small Boat Float Project will provide three new floating jetties for smaller vessels at the CFB Esquimalt Dockyard. These new jetties will replace the function of the existing Motor Launch (ML) Floats, which are nearing the end of their useful life, and will provide the defence community with modernized and expanded infrastructure to accommodate the needs of the current and future fleet of the small vessels of the Royal Canadian Navy.
Remediation of contaminated sediments in the project area was completed during the Constance Cove Remediation Project prior to construction.
Preparation for the project started in 2017 with dredging of the basin, also part of the Harbour Remediation Project.
